Invisible decrease
Changing colors

Abbreviations
ch = Chain
dec = Use the invisible decrease, insert your hook into the frontloops of the next two stitches, yarn over draw through the first two loops, yarn over through the remaining two stitches
hdc = Half double crochet
dc = double crochet
inc = 2 sc in next stitch
sc = Single crochet stitch
FLO = Front loops only
BLO = Back loops only

Start at the top of the egg with the blue yarn
Rnd 1: 6 sc in a magic ring
Rnd 2: 1 inc x 6 (12)
Rnd 3: [3 sc, 1 inc] x 3 (15)
Rnd 4: [4 sc, 1 inc] x 3 (18)
Rnd 5: [5 sc, 1 inc] x 3 (21)
Rnd 6: [6 sc, 1 inc] x 3 (24)
Rnd 7: [7 sc, 1 inc] x 3 (27)
Change color with the pink yarn
Rnd 8: [8 sc, 1 inc] x 3 (30)
Rnd 9: [9 sc, 1 inc] x 3 (33)
Change color with the blue yarn
Rnd 10: [10 sc, 1 inc] x 3 (36)

Place the 8 mm eyes in round 11 with 6 sc in between. Fill the egg

Finish off, close the gap and remove the remaining yarn

I’ve made two different baskets, one tight fit and a wide one. You may choose which basket you like best. I liked them both.

Rnd 3: [1 sc, 1 inc] x 8 (24)
Rnd 4: [2 sc, 1 inc] x 8 (32)
Rnd 5: [3 sc, 1 inc] x 8 (40)
Rnd 6: [4 sc, 1 inc] x 8 (48)
Rnd 7: [5 sc, 1 inc] x 8 (56)
Rnd 8-10: BLO 56 sc (56)
Rnd 11: BLO 10 sc, chain 10 (skip 8 sc), 20 sc, chain 10 (skip 8 sc) 10 sc
Rnd 12: BLO 10 sc, 12 sc on the chain, 20 sc, 12 sc on the chain, 10 sc
Finish off and remove the loose ends

Start at the bottom of the basket. The bottom is made with only Double Crochets
Rnd 1: Make a magic ring. Chain 3 (counts as a dc), 11 dc in a magic ring, st in the 3d chain

Rnd 5: BLO 48 sc (48)
Rnd 6: BLO 8 sc, chain 10 (skip 8 sc), 16 sc, chain 10 (skip 8 sc), 8 sc (52)
Rnd 7: BLO 8 sc, 12 sc on the chain, 16 sc, 12 sc on the chain, 8 sc (56)
Finish off and remove the loose ends

If you want to make an egg that’s a bit fatter, you can modify the pattern by deleting Rnd 3 and change Rnd 4 into:
